Tri Fold Shutter Card = ARGGGGGGGGGGGGH

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well. Its been a very wet day here, so dull! I had midwife this morning and yippee for me my bloods have finally come up :O) NO MORE NEEEEEEEEDLES!!! and phew I can have a straightforward birth now (I hope), I cant believe the due date is on Sunday not that she will come then of course!
I have a question for you: What do you get your MIL who has everything for her 60th Birthday something as a keepsake??? I would love to know your ideas :O)

I have made yet another card for Mil Birthday next week, but decided to keep the other for Mothers Day for her instead, and use this one. Well... I thought it would be easy, and it was, after nearly an hour of watching the video tutorial and this poor piece of card going back and forth between me and hubby the frustration in this house last night was very evident! and why cos birdbrain (thats me!) measured 11 and half inches not 12 inches what a duh!!! no wonder the thing wouldnt fold, of course hubby was asking me " you sure you measured it right?".... "yeah of course" was my reply hahahahahahaha I think I am lucky I am heavily pregnant else he may of just lost his rag with me pmsl! Anyway here it is, my first attempt:
I used this gorgeous image called Sugar from Mo Manning coloured with copics, and I added a little glitter, I cut her from a sizzix die and used 3d foam to mount her to the card.
The papers are MME and I used some sizzlitt letters, nesties and a few embellies, NO FLOWERS!!! WOW! I shocked myself lol.
Sorry about the picture quality I found this hard to photograph and even harder to get good light with our dull day.
Thanks for stopping by today, this card isnt for any challenges, I had a good little think and thought about all of the challenges I love to enter, but I know when baby comes I wont be able to join so many, so I have taken a lot of my sidebar, please dont be offended by this, but just incase anyone was a wondering why, Of course I shall still be doing my DT work :O) I shall need to keep my sanity somehow lol.
Sending hugs to those who need them, hoping to catch up tonight with you all.xxx

Hi Joey
I think this type of card are so aw inspiring and you have done it proud as always.
Good News on the bloods and doesn't time fly.....
I got my MIL a glass sphere Tiffany style lamp, it was licked with lovely red and orange flames etc, she was gob smacked with it, but whilst going to show it off one year later, she put her foot through it and it was a one off.. she had to own up as she could not replace it.... Don't know if that will help, but good luck on your shopping and surfing..
Hugs Kate xx

Hi Joey,
This is a wonderful card in beautiful colours and papers, with great images. I'm sure your MIL will love it.
Take it easy over the next few days, we don't want any panic deliveries. I'm sure the Lord will undertake.
Special Hugs,

This is gorgeous Joey and so pleased to hear your bloods are up!!! In answer to your keepsake question - how about an album of your children! We did a photo album on Kodak site for my parents' anniversary and they loved it, you can get them in leather bound and they're really lovely like a glossy magazine of your own photos! hugs, Jane xxx

Well done on the bloods, everything is falling into place. This is just gorgeous Joey, I have only ever made one and its was a frustrating learning curve lol. About your MIL, I always go for vouchers or a night out, meal and theatre, or a good play. Wouldn't dream of trying to buy her anything as I know she would return it lol.

Hi Joey and my goodness, how time flies with you on the countdown now :)! I'm so glad you're doing well now and fingers crossed for a normal birth too. Your card is amazing, I adore the fresh colours and your fantastic colouring of the image. It was worth all the agro :). Re the pressie for MIL, I've always found that they seem to love lockets etc., with pics of the grand kids in them :) or a family picture of them in a beautiful frame, they always went down well with mine anyway. Hugs to you sweetie and take care of yourself, Chris xx

Well, Joey, it looks like all your efforts paid off - it's a fabulous card!! Beautiful colours! Can't believe your baby is due this week - fingers crossed that you won't have to wait too long!! How about a digital photo frame, we gave one to MIL for Christmas and loaded it with all sorts of photos that she hadn't seen for years. (If not photos, you could always load up all your fab cards on to it!!)

Good luck with the delivery, but things do seem to be taking a positive turn for you. I'd go with a mini album for your mil, I did one for my mum and mil for mothers daya couple of years ago, I put pics of her children and grandchildren in and poems about mums. They both loved them, so you could do one for your mum in law with your children in , there are some fab free mum poems onthe internet and if you're not close to your mil some aren't that soppy and others are so there's loads of choice. Hugs and good luck Julye
